Prayatnashil Community Development Society (PRAYAS-Nepal), Dhading is a registered non-governmental and non-profit making, non-religious, service-oriented district level organization. It is registered with District Administration Office at Dhading (on 2058-12-6 B.S.) as well as Social Welfare Council (2059-9-6). Since, then it has been working in the field of Education, Child Protection & Community Mobilization. It is also a member of NGO federation Nepal. The daily activity is managed by PRAYAS Nepal Dhading has an office located at Neelkantha-3, Ganesh marga, Dhadingbesi, Dhading. It is autonomous and politically non-partisan organization, which is governed by its statutory/ constitution, financial and administrative policy and code of conduct and other various policies. We have some project with joint venture/ collaboration with different external development partner. This time we are seeking qualified and dynamic human resources for three years “Resilient Livelihood and Enhanced Food Security in Northern Dhading (RELIEF)” project partnership with ADRA Nepal.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION/REQUIREMENTS

Job Title: GESI Associate

No. of required: One

Probation Period: 3 months (Time may extend according to his/her own performance)

Location: Field Based (Gagajamuna RM &Khaniyabas RM, Dhading)

Reporting to: Field Coordinator

Job Summary:

The GESI Associate, under the direct supervision of the Field Coordinator, will provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to ensure that issues of gender, caste, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and disabilities are meaningfully considered in project activities. Moreover, the GESI Associate will ensure women and representatives of other marginalized groups are able to actively and meaningfully participate in the project activities at field level, organizational level and also with stakeholders. In close coordination with team members, the GESI Associate will build the capacity ofproject staff, including local stakeholders and the project participants. PRAYAS Nepal Dhading expects contributions from this position for organizational development and strengthens institutional capacities especially in gender equality and PSEAH.

Qualification and academic requirementsQualification, Skills and competence

• Bachelor Degree in any faculty One years’ experience / Intermediate level in any faculty 2 years’ experience in the field of      gender ,social sector
• Professional Skills, and Competency Experience and understanding of community mobilization with gender and women empowerment activities.
• Have sound knowledge of gender and safeguarding.
• Proven experience of successful field staff and team capacity-building in gender andsafeguarding.
• Strong planning, analytical and strategic thinking skills along with conflict management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, good spoken and written English levels.
• Travel frequently to program locations and sensitize sector agencies on GESI and women’s legal rights.
• Mobilize the project staff, related stakeholders, and project participants to fulfill the intended GESI objectives according to the project document.
• Interference with the local Tamang language.
• Ability to work in multi-cultural teams across different geographical locations, including providing remote support to field teams/ when required.
• High level of adaptability and capacity to take initiation.

Key Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities for GESI Associate will include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

Project Implementation

• Work with the team to implement the RELIEF project’s GESI Action Plan and prepare regular reports on GESI integration in close coordination with the gender and safeguarding officer ofADRA Nepal. 

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION/REQUIREMENTS

• Strengthen GESI integration by proposing required adaptation based on disaggregated MEAL data (qualitative and    quantitative) analysis, recommendations, and inputs from other team members and key stakeholders.
• Support developing and implementing GESI-related training to build capacity of the project staff, municipal staff, communities, and stakeholders.
• Work with field staff to track GESI performance in the farmer groups, rural municipalities and with service providers to track GESI performance in implementation.
• Conduct GESI-related training, Gender analysis, and capacity building of the project staff and gender champions of the
• Facilitate community facilitators and gender champions in preparation of the gender action plan of the farmer groups and their periodic reviews.
• Coordinate closely with the field team to ensure GESI initiatives are promoted and highlighted.
• Participate in periodic progress reviews under the Work Plan and adapt plans and activities as appropriate in collaboration with other team members. Other duties assigned by PRAYAS Nepal, ADRA Nepal and the donor agencies.
• Prepare & submit the stories, photo stories in coordination with the project staff.
• Ensure the proper implementation of the activities and target fulfillment align with GESI

1. Monitoring and Evaluation

• Monitor project interventions that address GESI disparities and create meaningful leadership and participation opportunities       for women and other marginalized groups.
• Participate in periodic progress reviews under the Work Plan and adapt plans and activities as appropriate in collaboration with other team members.
• Facilitate community facilitators and gender champions in preparation of gender action plan of the farmer groups and their periodic reviews.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor processes and outputs, ensure that all opportunities for gender empowerment is being taken, and prepares field visit reports as per the standard.
• Coordination and Collaboration identify opportunities to integrate GESI considerations and principles in local government structures
• Performance measurement processes, policies, plans, enforcement and oversight mechanisms and budget allocations.
• Work together with other field staff and gender champions to coordinate and link up of gender Champions in SGBV control network of the Rural Municipalities.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other project staff, donor agencies, Rural Municipalities, and other stakeholders.
• In close coordination with the local government, support in GESI information dissemination and celebration of days related  with GESI and SGBV.
